I love doing laundry when it is free. I'd go for the washer and knock out two birds with one stone!!

BTW when the time comes to move, I'm sure you'll have NO PROBLEM selling the washer to another tenant or city dweller with the same situation!!

I think I'd probably go with the washing machine. I like the idea of saving back "laundry money" for other fun things.

First, I've never heard anything good about the portable washers. I'd do a LOT of research first because I know of too many horror stories of them flooding kitchens.

            Thanks for all the feedback!

I placed the order for the washer today because it's got great reviews (hopefully it'll be great for us) and because the price I found was good.
However, we decided to get the practical and the fun thing by allowing ourselves a little more "fun" money. Once I added up the costs that a washer would save us every month, DH was on board to spend the money.

Now I just hope that it works as well for us as it's worked for other reviewers.

DCJenn- The reviews on most portables are a little all over the place but I'm home a good bit and able to monitor the washer. Plus it seems people overload them and thats where the problems begin. I'll obviously try very hard to not create the situation! Also, according to the measurements, I think I might be able to stand it in our tub! Haha!
