  • Rules on jewelry matching?

Can I wear a multicolored-glass-bead bracelet with an all-silver bead necklace?

Don't Stacy and Clinton always say your shoes and bag should complement each other but not be matchy? Is jewelry like that?

My favorite quote from that show is "It should go, not match!". I think if they go with the rest of the outfit, wear 'em!

Okay, I'm buying myself a watch, since my BF is getting all this cool new stuff for graduation and I'm immature and jealous. I've been coveting these "rose gold" watches for about a year now: http://tinyurl.com/3ke3bk3. I'm not exactly if that's the exact one I'd get, but I just wanted to give an example.

My issue is, I wear this sterling silver bracelet nearly every day: http://tinyurl.com/4ykelvf.

Would that look weird to mix the colors? I'd probably wear them both on the same hand...but I'm up for a change. I realize that I could also not wear them on the same day, but I have to overthink everything...

They have silver watches that I like too, but something about the "rose gold" keeps sucking me in! I'm also a bit concerned about the colored one looking dated in a couple years, but I have a shopping problem, so I'd probably just buy another one.

          Thoughts?

Well a lot of the stuff he's buying for himself, so it's more like I'm jealous of his new belongings. He's finally replacing his POS car and will have to furnish an apartment/condo. We decided not to live together the first year or two, so he'll be all alone. It'll be his first time living alone, as he always had roommates in a furnished apartment. So he'll get to buy all that fun stuff. As gifts, his family is getting him a new laptop, bedroom furniture, a fancy schmansy dinner, and a trip to Napa (given, I get to tag along on the latter two, so I really shouldn't complain). His godmother has been hinting at something special too, but we have no idea what that'll be.

I just bought him some pretty sweet tickets to a Brewers-Cubs game, and will probably him a bunch of socks or something lame like that. He's easily amused, so he actually enjoys getting socks...not to mention that his sock drawer frightens me. Once we figure out where he's living, I'll probably get him something for his apartment too.

I'm all about buying tickets to events (pre-residency events of course). I figure getting to do things like that will be few and far between once he starts work, so I think it was quite appreciated!

I got my husband a really fancy pen, that he lost before he even started residency. So I wouldn't suggest that.

I got my husband sterling silver monogrammed cufflinks. And a pair of really pretty black stilettos for me to wear to his graduation. Oh, and I gave him a son.

There are no rules against mixing metals. However, some people find rose gold hard to match and it does not suit every complexion. That said, if you love the watch, go for it.

Thanks! I didn't think were was a rule...I mix gold and silver a lot, but adding a new color to the mix kind of scared me. I think I can do rose gold...I tan super easily, so I'm dark with a teeny bit of an olive undertone. My mom says that I'm a "warm beige". Whatever that means. I figure if it looks okay in the nasty Macy's fluorescent lighting, it'll be perfect!

I've been resisting trying one on for a while now. Last time I tried one I was tan, so we'll see how it goes now in my pasty winter shade.

My wedding band was rose gold and I am super pale with a hint of auburn in my hair and the rose gold looked awesome, much nicer than yellow gold.
