Lily, love the suit. I need seperates - bottom is a size bigger than the top. I tried something similar at AT but it had linen in the fabric. It was all wrinkled just from trying it on so I figure it won't make it through a day of interviews. The pencil skirt really presses on my incision both while standing and sitting and I have a post-partum pooch so I was thinking that something a-line may be more forgiving?

I hadn't thought about the Mrs. Robinson association with animal prints. Am I really that old? People already think I'm a cougar when they hear that DrK was in med school and I was a BigLaw partner when we met.

Cinderella, normally, I'd go with the solid top but it's too risky when I'm nursing. Right now, I don't have a single t-shirt that doesn't have stains.

Well if buying a new solid top is out of the question and pairing a jacket with it won't work for safety while nursing then the dress suit Lily mentioned seems nice too. On a side note I should also mention we go with knee high hosiery with pant suits for practicality. They aren't constricting, they come six in a box and they keep the comfort level when wearing heels. Since so little of it is seen while wearing pants the color is to your preference.

It's not buying the top that is a problem. It's keeping it milk stain free for the duration of the interview. Sorry if this is TMI but when nursing a newborn on demand, sudden leaks are a problem even if you are wearing breast pads. I've actually soaked through those pretty quickly. ( Last night, I was putting my kids to bed thought I felt a roof leak but guess what? I'm a fountain right now). I'm hoping that leaks will be less obvious if I'm wearing a patterned shirt under a jacket. . . and that I won't smell of spoiled milk by the end of the day.

I loved this suit at AT, but they don't have my size (even on-line):

I think you have to avoid solid print blouses, assume you'll have leakage (I had really good luck w/hemp pads btw) and stick with patterns.

@ Von Maur. Told the sales lady my circumstances and asked for help. She recommended Spanx! B!tch!

How about a simple sheath dress with thigh high stockings and some nice accent jewlery pieces? I know you want separates but maybe with a little tailoring it would be a good option?

I think I need seperates so I can pump without undressing entirely and a patterned top to conceal potential milk stains. Sales lady recommended spanx because all my lumps and bumps showed in their summer suits. I've got lots of lumps now. 9 months up, 9 months down, then 9 months up again! I look like a deflated balloon. Spanx + fresh c-section? Not an option. I know she was trying to help but WTH.

I did pick up some thigh high stockings and knee highs per your suggestions so I'm prepared for either pants or skirt. Also got a different/brighter patterned blouse per Lily's recommendation. It's got a lot of blue and aqua but no brown. Is that ok w/ chocolate shoes? See, I am listening to you all! I'm not a totally hopeless complainer.

I'm looking for a back up option in case the AT pants I ordered don't work.

You can totally rock blue/aqua with chocolate. It's one of my favorite color combos. The two complement each other well!
I'm just trying to make it out alive!

Yep, that's a really popular color combo for summer and fall. It's very lovely too. Sorry, I'm trying to finish packing today for tomorrows big move so my internet time is intermittent. It must be really frustrating to find an outfit for the job interview post baby. I admire your gusto though & I send my best wishes for your success.

Yup, chocolate brown can compliment aqua/turquoise blues nicely. And that twit at VM obviously doesn't have kids. Or sense.
