    This.
DH wanted to try out NF until we found out what was available, and the price tag.

I still do streaming and DVDs because I have a huge backlog of stuff I want to see. I like the streaming because the shows I want to catch up on are all there. I'm still happy with them, though at some point I'm going to switch to Amazon Prime and Hulu Plus.

There is plenty on streaming to amuse us -- we don't have cable so we get to watch shows we would never get to see otherwise.

For some reason DH kept our streaming. We don't use it, but I think he's thinking we might start since we won't be getting the DVDs anymore.

We only had the streaming anyway so the changes didn't affect us. It's cheaper than cable and there are enough shows to keep DS occupied for a little while each day. Once in a blue moon I'll watch something but I don't have the attention span for movies these days. I did just get an Amazon Prime membership so if I can figure out how to get it on the TV and if they have enough kids shows I might can the netflix.

We don't really miss the DVD part of it. I found that DH would keep a DVD for several weeks, if not months! If he really wants something new, he'll go to Redbox like he did last night to get Captain America.

$8/month isn't bad for the streaming service. But $216/year for discs plus streaming was more than we wanted to budget for TV-type entertainment expense. Instead of Dora and Diego the kids now watch old episodes of He-Man on Hulu. >.< We'e also taken to renting several movies a month on iTunes to fill in the gaps between our one-DVD-at-a-time service, or to have a couple movies to take with us on vacation. Neither is really something we could do on streaming (our laptop doesn't have a good enough processor to stream smoothly, and anyway we don't have internet at the place where we vacation) so the fact that we're still paying about as much per month as Netflix would cost isn't THAT ironic. Really.

We have a roku box & netflix streaming only. True the selection isn't great but there is a ton for O/kids so it works for us. We don't have cable either.

scrub-jay already said it, but most of Amazon's library isn't free for Amazon Prime subscribers. That's why Netflix still comes out ahead for me. For now. We also don't have cable anymore. We have an antenna and TiVo to record the shows we want.
