Ask what he's into. My 10 yo is super easy-- bc he's always collecting something. Last year it was Pokemon cards, this year it's baseball cards. If you can't ask, you can't go wrong with a Lego construction set. They seem to love the mini figures especially.

I saw this book on Amazon in the middle of the night last night and was so upset that I didn't have anyone to buy it for! It looks awesome.

Seems like all the 10 year olds around here are really into Halo. They are like Legos, but "cooler." There are various series and they are really into collecting the sets of warrior figures, sold in $2.50 packs. Nerf swords. Mine is over Pokemon and Beyblade. But some of his friends are still into them.

          Beyblades are so annoying.

Our dude is just shy of being 10. Here are the things he consistently loses his marbles over:

              -Legos
              -Captain Underpants books
-Diary of a Wimpy Kid books
              -Legos
              -Anything Pirate related
              -Muppets
              -Bakugan
              -Did I mention Legos...?

My 10 year old is a big fan of nerf darts and nerf guns, and I second (third?) the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books.

Probably they already have all the diary of a wimpy kid books though... I know we do. I got the latest one on Friday and they said most of their friends had it on Tuesday-- same day it released. Eyeroll.

You seriously need to know what he likes. Have an online window shopping with him and find out what he likes. Nobody else can suggest a perfect gift than himself.
