  • WiFi connectivity to TV?

I apologize-- I know there was a thread recently about HDTVs but I'm on my phone mostly and can't find it through searches!!! It's so hard to get on MY computer bc of all the kids always using it.

My main question--- do you find it helpful to have an HDTV that connects directly to the Internet and has apps right there (like the smart TVs) OR just a regular HDTV and use the blu ray player as your Internet/streaming connection??

My bro is the most techy person I know, and he likes the blu ray approach-- doesn't like Internet thru tv. ??? He also likes doing things The Hard Way though-- like he talks to him computer in dos bc it's faster. He got my portion of techy in the family lol.

Anyway-- any thoughts on this?? I'd really appreciate it! We are trying to upgrade from our cathode ray TV circa 1999!!!!

That sounds about like our current setup!!! Not terrible tbh, but for selling the house we wanted to look a bit more "this century".

We have both Hgtv aps and a Roku and a blue Ray. Can you tell we don't have is cable tv! Lol I honestily use the Roku more than the tv aps. If I didn't have the Roku I would use Tv aps before the blue Ray.

We use our PS3 as a Blu-Ray and its hooked up to the Internet. We rarely go on the Internet from it, though.

We use a roku box attached to the old style tv. I'm one of those people who prefer my gadgets to be for single purposes so if one part breaks I'm not out of multiple gadgets. When we upgrade to a newer tv I'll avoid the tv with muliple functions & choose one with multiple ports for attachments.
