  • X-Mas gift ideas for DW??

HELP!! I need to find a gift or two for my wife! I have done pretty good the last few holidays but I am now out of ideas. Need to stay in the $200 and under range and be something she would not buy for herself. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

FYI she is a first year surgery resident, mother of a 1 year old boy, and a very accomplished musician (back when she had time) if that helps anyone think of something...

    Thanks,

    JT

I've been really wanting a silver charms with my kids' names, initials, or birthdates. You can find lots of that sort of thing on etsy. She my like something with your son's name.

Thevintagepearl.com is a great resource for that type of stuff along with Etsy. James Avery jewelry is beautiful too

I agree. Ever since having kids, anything with their names, or symbolic about them in jewelry is my favorite thing. I have a beautiful necklace from the vintage pearl, and it's very unique. The other gift I'd consider is a massage or other spa service. Your wife works hard! Let her have a day (or hour) to relax and be pampered.

It's not like she probably has a ton of time to read for pleasure, but have you thought about a Nook or Kindle? She can use it to read journals and not actually have to carry 40 lbs worth of journals. And when she has the opportunity to read for pleasure, finding books to download is pretty basic and cheap.

My first year surgery resident would LOVE an iPad (or a kindle or nook). He is always complaining about have 8 million books/journals to haul around.
I'm just trying to make it out alive!

DH occasionally steals my Nook. I sometimes think he bought it for me for Christmas last year because HE wanted one.

If she doesn't have an iPad (my DH can't live without his) how about the Kindle Fire? It does alot.

I agree with the name initial thing! Pottery Barn has a really pretty initial necklace.
I personally am hoping to find a pair of these in my stocking.

Also, this is silly, but there are some little luxuries on my list - like cashmere blend socks, Starbucks gift cards, .

look on pinterest. I've started a board there called "If someone wants to buy my a gift" and made sure my husband saw it. (I'm not suggesting you look for my board, but pinterest is full of awesome ideas).
