  • Vegas Spa!

So when DH and I go to Vegas in a month for a conference I get to spend a day at the spa! Woo hoo! A friend recommended the Canyon Ranch at the Venetian but I'm open to other suggestions.

Mainly I just need to know what to do. I've had a massage before but that is about it.

Right now I'm leaning toward a 50 or 80 minute massage and then a 80 minute pedicure, what they heck could they possibly do for an 80 minute pedicure??

    Anyway, I'd love recommendations.

Oooh, Canyon Ranch is suppopsed to be awesome. I second the body polish (like a massage with exfoliation and water), an 80 minute pedicure sounds too long but I always feel like 50 minutes is too short for a massage. Have you tried a hot stone massage? Also, I love facials. I'll look at the Canyon Ranch menu and get back to you. A girl can dream right.

Definitely do hot stone! (way better than a regular - ive never had anything else after my first one). Facials are also amazing - I'd do that before a body polish or wrap (but that just me - if there is no reason to cut something out then do them all... Heaven!!!!!). Can I meet you there, lol

              It's pretty great!
Also, any time a pedi/mani is long like that, it's because they are doing wonderful things. Equally relaxing!
I'd split it up into 2 days if you can.

2 days is a good idea if possible. You def want to leave yourself time to enjoy all the facilities!!! They look amazing on their own.

I might second this. Not that I've ever done a long spa day but I always like to nap/relax after a massage (of the 2 I've had). Might be best not to line up a million treatments post-massage.

We only have two days in Vegas and the other one is for shopping. 2 or 3 services is going to be more then enough of a splurge.

If it isn't possible - just start early and give yourself some breaks in between. The people at the spa know the deal - when you call and book multiple appointments they should tell you which order to do them, whether they should order you lunch (I've never gone for that one - there is usually plenty of free snacks/fruit in the relaxation room and they 100% have an awesome tea selection and lots of amazing flavored waters) etc. I've only had a few "spa days" but they are usually pretty helpful with timing even when I have 2 treatments (eg they won't suggest that you go right from the pedicure to a hot stone massage).

If it were me I'd go for first appointment of the day: hot stone massage. Then I'd give myself at least an hour break (1.5 hours may be better. During this time i do steam room and that crazy experimental rains thing... then maybe quickly check out that igloo thing and a quick shower. Then I'd give myself 20 min in the relaxation room). Next the absolute custom facial. Then a break to eat some fruit have some water/tea. (i avoid getting my face wet for as long as possible post facial so I wouldn't shower again). Then I'd do the pedicure. Then hopefully there would be at least 1 hour left to let your nails dry in the relaxation room. Then off you go looking and feeling amazing!!

Ahhhh so lovely!!!! (it's possible that I have a little spa addiction).

Wait I take that back. Keep everything the same, but go second appointment of the day hot stone. Go when the spa opens and use some of the facilities pre-massage - they look so good that you are going need more than 1.5 hours to really enjoy them.

Oh and as far as the 80 v 50 min massage goes - Ive only had an 80min hot stone once... Best 80 min of my life!! But usually it's too expensive so I go for the 50/60 min. Unless I have some kind of crazy pain going in, the 50 is usually enough (I'm never ready for it to be over no matter how long it is). So if you have to cut something I'd say cut the 30 min off the hot stone and save time for a facial.
