I bought the giant Cuisinart Keurig because it brewed all the sizes we wanted, had the largest water reservoir, included water filters and the basket to use our own coffee, and came with a shit ton of sample cups. I didn't want to have to buy a bunch of packages of coffee to find out what I liked.

I bought it from BB&B on sale and with a coupon. It was actually less expensive than the cheapest one they carry.

Lattes are espresso and steamed milk. It doesn't make lattes.

But there are some really good flavored coffees.

We have a Nespresso and love it!!! It's got pods like a Keurig, but dispenses espresso shots.

Is the Nespresso the Nestle machine? Can you use it without their pods?

Yes, I believe it is the Nestlé machine. You have to use their pods.

I have seen, but not tried, some latte-esque K-cups. Personally, I satisfy my sweet-coffee-tooth with flavored creamers.

I have the littlest Keurig - it doesn't have a reservoir, so you have to add the water every time. It's good for my desk, because it takes up less space, but at home I'd go for the next level up.

It's not the sweet flavor I'm looking for. It's the espresso/steamed milk thing. Looks like I'd be paying too much to do that at home. It's actually less to go to Starbucks every once in a while.

You could buy an actually espresso machine, MrsK. Mine is about $80 and does a great job. The downside is I really never use it often because it is a full 10 minute hands on process from start to finish.

We used to have an espresso machine and I absolutely loved that thing. Used it so much that we wore it out. It also had a milk steamer with a frothing doo-hickey. It isn't exactly fast, though.

Have you looked into machines that have both single-cup brewers and espresso makers with milk steamers? They're probably more expensive (I don't know, haven't priced them out), but might be exactly what fills your needs.

DD, that sounds great but I have no idea what the cost would be.

I hate our current machine. It was mid-range at Tar-zhey, but it's a PITA. It's a Mr. Coffee.
I miss our French press (I've broken 3 cleaning them), and my percolator from my single years. I still have it, but it makes about one American mug full. Not enough to run our household.

You can't use your own coffee, but it has a barcode reader that reads the barcode on the T DISC and makes it perfectly whether it's tea, coffee, cappuccinos, or lattes.

It's also less expensive than our Keurig.

I want one! That looks fun! I don't like straight coffee, but love flavors (mochas, cappuccinos, tea, lattes, etc.). I have a mini espresso maker. I haven't used it. MIL gave it to me (she used it once). It takes two pages of directions to make a cup and another page to turn it into a cappuccino. And almost every piece has to be hand washed.

We heat up milk in the microwave and use a little foamer (about $15 from Amazon) to froth the milk. Then you dump in the coffee - instant latte. Delicious. Cheap and no 10 minute process because it's literally the microwave + foaming time.
