Flying from Portland, probably low 40's and flying to KS - who the heck knows! Usually this time of year they are in the 20's-30's but this week they're in the 60's!!
I do pretty well with most colors other then green. Fair skin, brown/auburn hair, blue eyes. Body shape is thin, pear-ish I guess. Sizes are usually a 6.
I know, I need to call and get something set up for Tuesday so they can fix it, I just hate that conversation!Wife to NSG out of training, mom to 2, 10 & 8, and a beagle with wings.

I wouldn't fly in boots but you can change out of flats and into them at the airport after getting off the plane. In that weather, I would definitely suggest boots. Then depending on the boots, I'd go with either dark jeans/black pants or a sweater dress. Can you give us an idea on the boots?

Yeah, I wouldn't wear these to a nice dinner. If your ankle boots have a heel or a wedge, and you have a pair of dark jeans or black pants that you like and are hemmed for the heel, then just wear those. Of course Lily and I will be happy to suggest new items for you to buy but would you want to check if what you already have will work.
I tend to default to black when in doubt. To keep it really simple, you can always do a black wool or cashmere sweater over dark jeans with black boots. Add some sparkly accessories and a nice bag and a bit more make up for the evening look.Last edited by Vishenka69; 01-19-2012, 10:11 PM.

Regarding the weather, I don't know about KC but it's been in the 20s at night and creeping up to the 50s or 60s during the day. I've been playing in the yard with the kids and we don't even need jackets. By suppertime, it starts getting cool again.Wife and #1 Fan of Attending Adult & Geriatric Psychiatrist.

I think it really depends on how informal or formal the region/area. When I went with DH to his interview in WA, I was drastically and noticeably overdressed in just nice jeans, a blouse, ballet flats, and a good quality A-line wool coat. Every one else in the freaking county was in polar fleece, flannel, and puffy vests, including the docs and the CEO of the group.
For myself, I tend to err on the side of overdressing versus underdressing, too.

I think a basic long sleeve black dress similar to the one above would work and is easy to pack in a big purse with a cute pair of black shoes. Being a NYC girl, black is always my go to color. Ann Taylor also has a fabulous pair of black knit pants that are tight that you can wear with a cute sweater...I'll have to find the link and post that too.Danielle
