I'm going back to work in 2 weeks and none of my per pregnancy pants fit. I'm 10 lbs away from my Pre-pregnancy weight, but the biggest problem is my hips! I had to go up to size-I-never-wanted-to-see to get a waistband that fits but then the pants are too baggy in the thighs and butt. Any ideas for brands and styles that would be good to get? Work is very business casual but I don't think yoga pants are going to cut it!

Oh and I'm on a major budget because I don't want to spend. Load of money in clothes I hope to wear for just a few months!!!

Not Your Daughter's Jeans. I never thought I'd buy a pair of mom jeans, but they're awesome, because the low rise ones dig in too close to my csection scar, and with these you can just zip your overhang into the pants!

I think they have slacks and cords, too!

Beat me to it. This is exactly what I was going to recommend. They are amazing, even long after you get back down to where you want to be (bodies change, ya know?). I am wearing some right now and no one can tell they are "mom" jeans, but they are forgiving where they need to be, but don't have elastic waistbands (yuck).

Get these pants from Spanx: http://www.spanx.com/product/index.j...entPage=family Yes, they are pricey but believe me when I say that they are worth EVERY penny. They hide a multitude of sins and take 10-15 lbs off instantly, plus they pack well, wash up beautifully, and are super comfortable to boot.

I got a couple pairs of pants at Express. The style with the wide waistband is very forgiving, they are machine washable, and snot washes out well.

What about the the the belly band thing (I can't remember what it is called) that they sell to enable you to wear your regular pants during the pregnancy.

I love my pair of Not Your Daughter's jeans that I found at Ross, but in regular stores, they're over $100! Do pick up a pair if you can afford it or find them on sale, though. Other than that, I'd suggest looking at Ross, Marshall's, TJ Max, and maybe Plato's Closet for cheap clothes to get you by for a few months.

I have the same problem with my hips, and my ribcage expanded (and my breasts of course), so lots of shirts are just way too short. Also, the saggy, jiggly skin doesn't help. I ended up buying a few shirts in the plus size section for the extra length. They're a little big in weird places, and it's kind of hard to find some that don't scream old-lady, but it's worth trying on a few if you're having problems with your shirts, too.

Ooo I had forgotten about that! That should enable me to get in a few.

I actually found a pair of Not Your Daughters yesterday at a resale shop for $14. The particular style isn't what I would normally choose, but it sure beats buying them new for $100 if I'm not going to be wearing them that long (I hope!)

I'm going to check NY&Company again, too. They tend to have good clearance racks I can pillage.

Pollyanna--normally I wouldn't spend more than $50 on a pair of pants (and rarely that...I've always wanted to get down to a smaller size and then dump a bunch of money into some good pieces but of course it never happened!), but I feel like I could get a lot of use out of those spanx pants. I'm going to consider those!

                  This was really helpful!

I... Went to The Buckle. I kept an open mind and tried on the whole store. I found a new cut and style that is youthful, and comfy.
I also bought a pair at Gap (Long and Lean cut, which I never would have picked up because of my shape) and have been quite happy with both.
I finally wear my pre-pregnancy size, but my shape is way different.

For jeans I like Provocateur cut from Joe's jeans. They are high waist and come in different leg cuts. For pants also try Ann Taylor, some of their styles also have higher waist with wider bands. They might still have the extra 40% off sale.
