A friend made one of these for me as a shower gift. Loved it for the tiny infant stage.

Cute! A friend actually made one for me for my shower but keeps forgetting to give it to me (and I thought it would be rude to ask). I hope she remembers before N grows out of her carseat!

Ack, I've been around too many car seat safety nuts, but...after-market covers, anything that goes between the baby and the seat, is a big no-no. The seat was safety tested with the manufacturer fabric, anything else could change the friction and other dynamics and make the seat less safe than intended. They also tend not to be flame retardant (which I don't care about in pajamas, but in a device meant to protect my child in case of an accident...) I love minky, but the slip covers are making me cringe. Cute blankets though.

Oh I agree! These are just covers to drape over the handle while you're carrying it. The "whole caboodle" package does have the pieces that aren't recommended.

One of the other residents' wives makes the canopy for every expecting mom/dad in the residency. She whips those puppies out in a couple hours and they are ALWAYS popular during our insane winters.
