Looking for some recommendations for wedding makeup. I still need a good tear/sweat proof mascara and a good foundation. I love BIG mascara, and I've been using a sample of Lancome "Doll Lashes" mascara lately, but it smudges under my eye by the end of the day. And the wedding will be in the midwest, outside, in July, so I definitely need something with more staying power. For foundation, I'm looking for something relatively lightweight but with staying power and non-oily. I already have a good primer and finishing powder. Any recommendations??

I would go to a MAC counter or store (in advance) and have them giving you a makeover, using what you're describing. Their products were designed for use on the runway and under hot lights - it has staying power, and there is a wide variety to choose from.-Deb

I did that with Clinique, and I love their products.

Do you have any department stores there? What about Sephora or Ulta? I really think the best way to buy any makeup is to try it first, give it all day, and then purchase. You just don't want to end up with something that you find hot, sweats off, causes breakouts, etc.-Deb

I think I'd go to the Macy's and try Clinique one day, Estee Lauder another. Call ahead and see if you can get appointments (if you explain your situation, this should be doable). You should know after a couple of hours what brands and products you like. The week before my wedding was crazy - I would have wanted it done before then.-Deb

I bought the Temptu system when they still sold it at Sephora (now it's just online or a few stores around the country). It's airbrush makeup for everyday use. I did my own wedding makeup and it came out flawless - better than the two professional trials I attempted before giving up. It's a big investment (in that it costs $295 for the system and a set of makeup that will probably last you 3 months or so for the foundation, much longer for the blush and highlighter), but it's waterproof, your makeup will stay on all day...and it's fast for everyday use. I love mine. For best results you should lightly use a setting powder (I like Laura Mercier translucent from sephora) with a fan brush). The downside is that it doesn't have sunscreen it it...other than that, it has the best coverage I've ever had while looking like you have no makeup on!

best thing in the world is a product called "she-laq" it is made by benefit. You can put it over ANYTHING (liner, mascara) and it won't smudge at all. It's amazing for a mascara that you love but isn't waterproof. It is a pain in the butt to get off after, but won't smudge at all or run. I wore it for my wedding in Jamaica and it stood through the tears (and the perspiration!) It's almost like a clear coat on top!sigpic
