  • Camera Help!

    Hi All!!

My grandmother (god love her) is taking me on a little mini vacay with her. We are going to be doing some underwater activities and I'm wondering what your thoughts are on an underwater digital camera. Nothing too crazy (under $200) but something that will take good pictures in and out of the water... anyone have any recommendations?

How many times do you think you will use your camera underwater? If not much, many of the dive shops, snorkle, activity shops will rent you one.
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

I have a Kodak Easy Share Sport that works pretty good. It was only about $70 on Amazon. It's only good to about 10 feet though. So it depends on what you are doing.

They also have waterproof cases for iPhones...if you have an iPhone and would find those pics acceptable. I think you can get them for around $40.

I wouldn't trust my iPhone with a waterproof case...you cannot be 100% sure it works until it is too late!

I have an older version of this--I've actually used it multiple times in the pool and at the beach, snorkeling in the Florida Keys and in Hawaii, parasailing. I'm happy I bought it. It's nice to be able to take a camera out into the ocean without worrying about a rogue wave.

Here are some pics I took with it:
