Definitely have something online though because I can see that would be a viable option for desperate women seeking something to cool them the F off at say, 11:26 on a Tuesday night...

(seriously, girls. This is CRAZY sweat. This is suddenly erupting in sweat that drips down your face. This is sweat that no amount of Secret can handle. This is waking up at 2am soaking wet. Honestly, and it's BAM sudden.)

I'm off to bed with an ice cold glass of water and a ceiling fan on high blast. and I hate ceiling fan air.

      Preach!!!

So fuckung true. The flashes would be less of an insult if there was a least a little warning. But no, BAM, is right!! And it's so rude when it happens at 2am. I usually can't get back to sleep until hours later.

My mom remembers her grandmother suddenly running outside to be in the snow. Living in Florida (or San Antonio) that isn't an option!!

I agree about the website! Try to get something neat and simple up as soon as possible. You can improve it later, but provide your hours, and list meeting times and service prices. It drives me crazy when I can't readily find store hours or prices on a site.

I think it's a great idea! You're brilliant! (But go easy on yourself - you're still healing.)

My grandmother used to strip down to her bra and go stand outside and fan herself on the back stoop. I'm sure the neighbor ladies all understood though- they were all about the same age.

I'll never forget. When I was in a Lupron-induced medical menopause at 19 years old. I was engaged and about to get married. It was Chad's first time meeting my grandma, and we were talking about me being in menopause before starting fertility treatments. She looked straight at me and said, "Don't forget to lube your chassis!"

              Chad, meet grandma!

One of my pet peeves re: websites - have the URL be something people can remember as being associated with your store. An early web presence is a great thing, especially if you can get your info on Yelp/etc. I would also check out some of the baby websites as they might have a forum for women who have undergone rarely menopause for whatever reason. I'm sure you've already thought about talking to the medical supply places in your area to get the word out (I would push the cafe/support group part!)

I think this could be a great way to make a huge impact in people's lives, use your personal and professional experiences, and have a creative outlet!

that's hilarious. Due to medical issues I was on Lupron when I was 10. Twenty years later those hot flashes still haunt me. This store idea sounds wonderful and webpage access sounds amazing. I know when my real menopause time comes around I will be googling it.

                        Great idea!
You also might get some new mom traffic: I would have loved the bed sheets and clothing you are describing when I was newly post-partum.

OMG- I needed the store last night- I was at a wine-tasting event and granted it was 99 degrees out but I was so hot and sweaty! The sweat was RUNNING down the back of my legs.
