I agree a wine/dark purple, a grey or even a dark forest green would be a great way to incorporate the colored jeans look and still feel age-appropriate. If you pair colored skinny jeans with tall boots and a long sweater, that will cover more of the jeans and reduce how much of the color you see. I think it's hard to go wrong with tall boots in the fall. Chevron stripes really are everywhere, I almost wonder if we'll be tired of seeing them by fall.

Wearable Fall Trends?

I love love love fall fashion. Maybe it comes from "back to school shopping" as a kid, but when the weather turns cool I just want to shop!
Curegirl, I'm right there with you on the preppy and menswear clothes in the fall! I tend to wear a lot of dark jeans, soft sweaters, blazers and leather boots. I have a serious addiction to leather boots. I have a pair of medium brown knee-high Borns with a 3-ish inch heel, dark brown knee-high flat Fryes, and a pair of knee-high pearl gray Calvin Kleins with a super high heel. Plus a few pairs of ankle-high boots and booties... I wear them all with skinny jeans -- but any more, that's the only way I wear skinny jeans. Would you believe the skinny jeans trend actually started around 2006? I remember because I was visiting some friends in Chicago and went shopping with them and was really dubious about this whole skinny jeans thing. Now, I've gained a few lbs and they make me feel like a sausage, so I only wear them when I want to tuck them into boots.
Anyway, these are the boots I want this year: http://www.zappos.com/dingo-metro-chocolate. A little trendy, but I do already have the basics covered.Wife of PGY-4 (of 6), cat herder, and mom to a sassy-pants four-nager.

I love boots, but don't currently own a pair of hunters. A great pair is usually expensive (or maybe I am expensive?), but man...

Cheap boots for all the Texans!!
Seriously...there is a DSW near Bonnie Ruth's...drinking and boot shopping???
Just no cowboy boots. I know they are a "thing" here but I absolutely refuse to go there.Married to a newly minted Pediatric Rad, momma to a sweet girl and a bunch of (mostly) cute boy monsters.
