So, my beloved bracelet broke the other day. I literally never took it off. I'm looking for something to replace it for a reasonable price-point (not sure exactly what that is, but for sure under $300 - I would be using b-day money from ILs and g-parents). Here's the original piece

It is gold. I think it would be expensive to fix since its "braided" in some sense, and broke in the middle. It seems very labor intensive, and maybe impossible?? Plus, all of our local jewelers here are very "exclusive" and expensive to begin with.
I really would like something that I can wear all the time (including shower and bed).

Something like this is very wearable for day to day and should be less than $200 http://www.jared.com/product1%7C1045...64.19797.19867
This is nice too but I'd make sure the loop holding the charm was soddered. http://www.jared.com/product1%7C1045...64.19797.19867
I've been wearing a bangle like this one (http://iraqchuc.info/14k-white-gold-...r-quality.html) lately and I've found it to be very mom-friendly. It has a very secure lock and there are no links to break if the kids pull on it. Since the stones are chanel-set, I don't have to worry about them falling out or snagging things on the prongs. (I assure you that I did not pay $1k for mine. My mother is in the jewelry business and I got mine ages ago when gold was low.)
I also have found my grandmother's silver bangles are easy to wear for every day. This one is similar: http://www.jared.com/product1%7C1045...64.19797.19867. However, note that a wider silver bangle like this is likely hollow and could dent if handled roughly. If you have small hands like I do, you may also have difficulty finding bangles that don't fall off. Something like this may be more durable: http://www.jared.com/product1%7C1045...64.19797.19867Last edited by MrsK; 08-19-2012, 07:06 PM.Wife and #1 Fan of Attending Adult & Geriatric Psychiatrist.
