All right, I'm going to say it. I'm not a fan of the orange. Maybe it is the Sooner in me but I think it is too bright and would be hard to decorate around.

I saw the Costco sectional you were talking about and it is really nice. Their couches wear well.

Costco only has the floor model left. It has stains. That's a no-go. The search continues.

Target furniture isn't going to hold up and it's vinyl. The Costco in Lewisville had a bunch of couches not long ago

                What about something like...

                http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50211566/

                With a couple of these?

I've had the chairs for a year and they show no wear, and are so comfortable!

We're going to check Weir's Monday. MIL and FIL think we can find something there that's better quality from the outlet section.

Re: Ikea furniture. We bought several pieces while in med school. I figured they would wear out and we would replace them in attendinghood. Surprisingly, they still look great...15 years later.

That's why I recommended Ikea. My pieces have just been moved to the basement because my hope that they would die just hasn't come to fruition. You definitely have to be choosey to keep the look from becoming cheap, but their stuff lasts! We had a love seat from there in med school that went to residency with another classmate, and then attending hood with a different classmate. The thing just won't die! My DH is 250 pounds and hard on things (he somehow jumps into a couch to sit on it), and he hasn't managed to kill anything from there. Our couch from Macy's had to be rebuilt twice.

I do think looking in the outlet/clearance sections or stores is a great idea. There are definitely deals to be found.

Go check out Thomasville& ask if they have any discontinued floor models. We went there labor day 2002& scored a Hemingway collection oversized sofa&a club chair w/ ottoman. They were upholstery w/ leather arms. I still get compliments on them, even though, IMHO, they are warn &tired. We also asked the sales person to ask the mgr for a discount if we paid cash instead of utilizing their labor day finance special they were offering. The of stuff is REALLY well made! BTW the Macy's stuff is mostly lower profile...it's fine if everyone using it is petite, but DH (5'11") &I (5'5") thought it felt too low.

We got a sofa! It was half off at Freed's. I fell in love with it at another store but they had it for 2699 instead of 1488. It's a huge sectional. I love it. It will be delivered Friday.
