  • Family Photo Help

We are having family photos done by our beloved photographer on the 4th of October. Outside and if this weather holds the leaves should be perfect!

    Anyway, so I'm thinking grey...

This for A: http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/produc...scid=477757012 with a long sleeved t-shirt underneath, probably pink or red, with black leggings

This for R: http://www.crazy8.com/shop/dept_item...ed=0&fit_type= with a dress shirt underneath it and jeans

DH has a grew sweater that he'll wear a dress shirt underneath and jeans

I'm at a loss for me and for what color to put under A's sweater dress...

I was thinking this, http://www.loft.com/loft/product/LOF...aultColor=3114 in grey with a shirt underneath to match A's

    -or-

maybe this with a shirt to match A's and a scarf...
    http://www.loft.com/loft/product/LOF...aultColor=0111

We'll all (except A) wear dark wash jeans...

    Thoughts?!?!?

The "grey" version of that loft.com sweater isn't grey, it's more of a beige/oatmeal. Probably wouldn't go very well. Under A's dress, I'd probably put a primary color that'll bring out one of the colors in the train on R's sweater. Red, black, and white are probably easier to match than green, and red would keep everything from looking all B+W, so I'd probably go for red.

I would think about how grey will photograph in B&W. You may find that you get unintentionally washed out once it's in B&W. This photographer has some good boards: http://jessicagwozdz.com/blog/category/what-to-wear/.

I thought about doing all of us in red but that seems like a lot of red...

Have you considered going with one of the jewel tones? Something that would compliment everyone's complexion and pop against the leaves.

Well we did turqoise/blue at our last family photos and dark blue the year before that, I don't want to do those again - what else would you recommend?

I've always been surprised by how great bridesmaids look in tangerine. You wouldn't think it but it seems to make everyone complexion look amazing. I do like your gray theme idea though. It's elegant and understated.

My preference out of those would be the Loft one for you, and the first one for A.

                  I agree!

Other suggestion: A and B in red, train sweater with red shirt under for R, and a dark charcoal open sweater with red shirt under for you? You could all do dark jeans/jeggings.

I agree with the first option for baby but I like the Banana Republic one for you. I think little pops of red would look good if you're concerned about so much red..?

I thought about that, does my grey need to match the train sweater if he and I are in grey and B and A are in red?

Good question I would probably lean towards yes since you're not all in one color (if that makes sense). Fashionistas, what say you?

I'd go with a shade close or a bit darker for the grey...

                            So I'm at the mall...

This one with a red cami sticking out tr bottom

Or this one in grey with a red shirt underneath

I'm worried how the collar on the 2nd one will photograph.

                            Or keep looking
