  • So I managed to buy the 13 year old a dress and 2 skirts....

And now I need help with accessories. Yes, I'm totally helpless.

We got a navy blue skater dress that looks very cute on her. It's something like this picture:

Hmm... Can't seem to put the image up. Bummer. Well, it's at this location. http://fashion.makeupandbeauty.com/all-is-well/

She will be wearing it to a play and french restaurant. I don't see her in heels.... Can you suggest accessories? We're thinking a cardigan in a bright color - she has a coral colored one - and ballet flats. It's a little nippy here already so she needs something for her shoulders. I'm also wondering about tights, etc.

Sorry to be such a total fashion loser! At least I managed 45 minutes in Forever 21.

Impressive! My first trip in there lasted all of 4 minutes before my head exploded.

I was committed. I've been in before and fled quickly. Today, we tried very hard to LOOK. I also asked a few sales people for help. It was truly a growth experience. She tried on 10 things and we kept 2. One dress, one skirt. The other skirt is coming from online -- we already got one and had to send it back for a smaller size.

I see the photos did attach. Awesome...

LOVE! I would go cardigan, flats, and would she be comfortable in polka dot tights? If so, then maybe black and white little polka dots or something like this: http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/nordstro...esultback=3608

And a few gold bangles if she wants some jewelry?

Funny -- she just pulled out some dotted tights but asked me if I thought they would be too sheer. Maybe she's got fashion sense I never had.

The coral cardigan looks great with it. I think we may have the outfit for the dress up French program field trip ready (Moliere play and French food, oh my) --- now on to building a jean-free wardrobe for their four day trip to Washington D.C.

ballet flats for sure and i love the pattern tights. so cute!! One thing I wish I found forever ago are sweater tights. I'm don't do non-jeans very well (something about my lack of butt and hip length blah blah) and sweater tights were a savior. Cute ones with almost an argyle pattern look so adorable under most any dress / skirt-shirt combo.. my little sister loves them, probably just because I do haha
