Love the Carmen marc valvo dress. It gets my vote. (my prom dress was his - I still feel like princess when I try it on, they are amazingly flattering).

Btw - in long dresses I've had good luck with bcbg bc they make petite (I'm 5'7, but really don't do super high heels).

Also just FYI. Badgley Mischka gowns run gigantic. They are a lot of dress, and I'm afraid you'd drown in the second one. The first one is gorgeous though!

My thoughts exactly! Plus I like that the first one is more open at the top.

I'm obsessed with that Kate Spade dress that LSW posted. I actually just ordered it about a month ago for an event I have next weekend! I'll check back and let you know how it fits if you can wait a week.

I like that dress but I'm not really sure short is appropriate for this event. I sent another one of the wives an e-mail, we'll see what she says...but I would love to know how you like it CP!

Made it through the first gala, it was fine, nothing to write home about. The Ball will be better. I'll try to post a picture tomorrow if they came out.

Also I find that a lot of times I buy a dress and it is longer than in the photo because they have shortened the hemline to make it look sexier. Why, I don't know. I usually am buying work dresses so riddle me that one.

Can not wait to see your pics! I am 100% confident you looked amazeballs!!!!
That's just stupid. I'm 5'9" and I never buy dresses online because of the hemline issue. If they shorten them, how the heck am I supposed to guess where it will fall on me?

I put a pic on fb, I realized this is a public forum so I won't be posting one here. If you can't see it let me know. I ordered the long blue gown from RueLaLa for the ball, I suspect I'll have to have it hemmed but we'll see...

Well it arrived...I don't know - the fabric is weird, almost drapery like and its WAY to long I have my highest heels on in this picture...it is returnable...

Is this RTRW or one that you bought? If you bought it, I would hem it because the rest of the fit and the color are awesome for you!
