I really like this blouse: http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/a...talogs-_-n-_-n

Think I could do that with black slacks?

It's a OK top but I really like the black skirt you posted. What in the world was that plaid mess!?!? haha!
What about the pretty red top that MrsK posted with the black skirt you posted?

DH and I decided the plaid thing could double as a tree skirt.

I am obviously super challenged in this area, but I am cheering you on from the sidelines (in men's boxers from Gap, circa 2001, and an "Hecho en Mexico" shirt I stole from DH, circa 2007).

I'm in running shorts (but I haven't run in weeks because I need a new daily inhaler) and DH's Camp Phe Esta 2012 t-shirt. No idea where the shirt came from. Ha ha!

                I'm a blob. LOL

Pear I think. My hair is my best feature.

I don't like my knees, love maxi or longish skirts. Willing to wear heels (I have plenty), flats, boots, any shoe is fine as long as it isn't strappy.

Favorite colors to wear are red, wine, teal/turquoise/aqua, pink, bright green. I'll wear a black skirt but prefer color for the top.

I don't think I could do the faux leather (or even real leather) skirt, but might be able to find something in another fabric. Hmm...I like.

Okay. Don't laugh. I saw this dress in an ad in InStyle and love it and the other two that are in the ad. Could I do one it (or the snake print one) with that belt and not look like an idiot? Assuming it fits of course.

I saw this top in an ad and loved it so I searched online and bought it. It's dressier than I expected (though could still go with jeans and boots like I planned). Could I get away with it over a black pencil skirt or some black slacks?

You could probably also do oxblood pants or skirt Cute top! I like the sleeves.

So I procrastinated on shopping. Can you tell I don't want to go to this party. Got my mom to meet me at Macy's and this is what we came up with (with the sales lady's help).

The first is a raisin color with black ribbon belt. I had a half-blind tween taking my pics. I have the black patent mary jane pumps to wear with it. The red one would go with the leopard pumps.

Thoughts? Do I need to go to the bigger Macy's tomorrow instead?

I prefer the red dress. I like both pairs of shoes.

Thank you! DH didn't seem too excited about either one. I may just look a little more Friday morning. Will probably have to squeeze it in between breakfast and a ballet lesson, but I think I can do it. I'm just not positive that either one is right. You know? Who throws a holiday party before Thanksgiving at an Italian restaurant? I really don't want to go. Boo!

I think the red dress and the leopard shoes are better. Not crazy about those mary janes. The red looks very nice on you!
