Keep or return? I paid ~$130. Got them in Teak. DH would like to give them to me for my birthday (they arrived yesterday).

Boot whore!! I'm filing that away in the dictionary.

I vote keep. A solid basic, look fairly comfy, you'll get plenty of use out of them.

MrsSz, I have a pair of Madden's that look very similar to those you just bought and I get compliments on them all the time. I've had them for about 5 years so they're good and worn in and people always ask if they're vintage, LOL

            Question for the fashion mavens...

I'm getting on the knee-high boot train. I found a pair I like for $50, but they almost seem a little "baggy" in the ankle area. I tried on a couple pairs and they all had this issue, though. I don't have ridiculous calves, but they are probably on the larger side, so I'm wondering if that is the issue. It didn't really bother me, but if I'm going to follow a fashion trend, I want to do it right.

I'm supposed to wear these with short shorts, right?

This is where I am with boots. I've never found a pair I felt I could walk in comfortably, because they never seem to fit right around the ankle. I have big (long) feet, skinny ankles, and probably average calves.

I got these for E and she loves them. They were on sale a few weeks ago and I got 5% off with my Target card.

I got this pair for M but they fit me too!

I've had this same problem with most non-structured boots. I don't know if that's an acceptable look or not but it just bothers me so all of my boots are structured.

Are you thinking that the calf looks tighter than the ankle? Most boots will look "wrinkly" in the ankle since it needs to be able to flex. Boots that are TOO tight in the ankle look like go-go boots. You don't want that. You also want to make sure the calf is loose enough that it doesn't feel tight if you're wearing them over jeans. A too-tight calf will make the wrinkly ankle look weirder. So it's really a matter of degree.

So I got the same Croft & Barrow ones, also super cheap. DH and the child came with me because he wanted to get more pants. He has this thing against boots and was a total turd when I tried a few on.

I bought them anyway and when I tried them on at home, he asked me how many Jews I planned to round up today. Turd.😏

My husband doesn't like boots either. When I had on knee high black boots with plum colored jeans, DH said I looked like Santa Claus. I wore them anyway.

DH took a solid 3 seasons before he stopped making fun of my boots every time I put them on. Now he likes them. I don't know why some guys are so resistant to this trend, but he was adamant it was the stupidest thing he'd ever seen. I guess crocs came along and put it all in perspective for him
