We just took the plunge. A friend has it and uses it with her iphone--she showed me how she can pan the camera back in her baby's room from my house. You need a mobile device to use as the receiver, but the bonus is you can use it anywhere instead of just in your house and you can talk to your baby via the phone. Seems like a good deal to me--I don't think there are any other decent ones on the market for $80.
