Sedans are too long. The Yaris and Fit are a good 20" shorter than the sedans, and I need to be able to park this thing in tight spots. We live in the densest neighborhood in our city and if it's on the street, a shorter car would be easier to park. It doesn't need to have trunk space, because we have an SUV for that. Just to get us all from a to b.

Still, we need for him to be able to fit into it without him having to contort himself. We need roomy back seats, in case we ever have a second baby.
My mil has a VW Golf and it has been in the shop more often than not. I want a reliable car and nothing fancy--doesn't need to have GPS or anything that might attract prowlers.Wife of PGY-4 (of 6), cat herder, and mom to a sassy-pants four-nager.

We were looking at a Yaris and ended up going with a Scion XB. The interior space is closer to an SUV yet the mileage and handling are more like a sedan. It's actually shorter than most sedans. I parallel park it all the time and it's very easy. However I think the XB is discontinued. Not sure if they make something similar to replace it.

OK- I have the very first model year of the Yaris. It is BO-ring. As long as you don't need to accelerate quickly or stop on a dime, you should be fine. I kinda feel like I'm driving a tin can. BUT- you don't see MY car targeted by the thieves. And, let's face it- I work at a methadone clinic next to a homeless shelter...

I'm definitely looking for a car that is the last one someone would be interested in. I don't want it to feel like a tin can though...
Dh is off this week, and of course he wants to look at the Fiat 500 and Mini Cooper. Groan.married to an anesthesia attending
