  • Unique Coffee Gifts

FIL is a coffee junkie! And that is probably an understatement. Anyone have a unique coffee gift idea?

He uses a french press mostly, they also have a Keurig.

Help he's the last one on our list!

Peace Coffee and Northern Clay Center are both fantastic Minneapolis organizations and I love them both.

Oh, and I also just came across this: http://www.thekitchn.com/15-gifts-fo...nel%3A+Main%29

Plus, if he's still using a blade coffee grinder, he might like a burr mill grinder, which is the preferred coffee snob coffee grinder. There's a wide range of price levels on those.

I'm in a rush so can't get the link right now, but if you go to Etsy and search "hand stamped spoon," you'll find several people selling spoons with funny/sweet/interesting things written on them. like "Coffee before talkie" or "decaf is for wimps."

Does he have a mailing service that ships freshly roasted beans, to his door?
If not, that is something to look into. I recommend Peet's in the Bay Area... mmmm... Peet's.

Anything from Blue Star is great.

I have crazy high standards for coffee and this is some of the best I've ever had. They're even better than Coffee People. Lots of flavor and the right balance of acidity with tannins. Many coffees are way too acidic.

No advice on coffee but had a PSA...I was about to buy DH a french press but he said it can raise cholesterol! I think because there is no filter. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10971787
Sorry to be a debbie downer!

                    Also, this: http://coffeetea.about.com/od/equipm...p/roasters.htm

If he can find a good source for unroasted beans, he can actually DIY and make his own coffee.

This is actually really good to know because both DH and FIL have high cholesterol and both drink french press more often then not...
