  • Admin prof day

So Wednesday is admin prof day. Since this is the first time I truly have my own staff I got the girls these bags. I was going to get cute pens and stationary, maybe some fun Chapstick. with a thank you card.

    Any other thoughts.

Cute! I'm partial to the red...maybe a small gift card snuggled in there too?

Yikes! Thanks for posting this. I have always bought the gifts for DH's admins. However, we now live in different towns and I totally forgot. Just texted him - dude is on his own this year. Let's hope he comes up with something as cute as your gift.....ok - I am going for half as cute. He will probably buy them doughnuts. Gosh, I hope not. Doughnuts may work for the guys at the auto repair shop but the ladies may not go for that.
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

I used to collect donations from the attorneys in my department and bring in breakfast/brunch for my staff including about 25 secretaries/paralegals/file clerks, a few receptionists, the word processing department, the IT department, and two housekeepers who were on staff all day to set up conference rooms. Probably about 100 people who provided administrative support to our department. Breakfast usually was several trays of danishs, fruit, cheeses, bagels, crackers, and sweets from the local grocery, juice, coffee, milk, etc. I'd set it up in a conference room and they'd nosh on it all morning. (It usually resulted in a slow day because they'd all be visiting the buffet and chatting in there.) Last year, I got an e-mail from a former assistant who moved away long ago saying that she always misses me on Admin Prof Day because the people she works for now don't have any idea how to show their appreciation and she misses the breakfasts.

Our office does breakfast for the admin assts only and cake for everyone in the afternoon.
As the newbie in my division I collected money for them to go out for a long lunch on Thursday. Also got them cards and organized for us to cover phones while they go to lunch.
