Thanks! I'll check it out. I attempted to sell books on eBay back in college and failed miserably. I guess it wouldn't hurt to give it another shot!

Right idea, wrong venue. For books, sell on Amazon (if they're worth anything).

It might have been amazon. I honestly don't remember. It's been more than a couple of years since I was in college. Eeeek

Pfft. When I graduated from college, amazon didn't exist, you young'un.

Bwahahahaha - when I graduated from college, it was only a couple of years old and certainly wasn't the behemoth it is now.

The cool thing about Amazon is they will do book "buy-back". You type in the ISBN and condition, they give you an amount in Amazon credit, and you ship the books to them (then you don't have to deal with selling to individuals). If I remember correctly, you even get free shipping to their facility via a printable label! You can also opt to have the books recycled if they don't take them...

I've scored on craigslist this week!! I was going to pick up an old wood chair to reupholster and ended up in the neighborhood of mansions. The seller was the stager/estate seller that is responsible for the entire property. I got a Henrendon sofa that retails over 5K for $700. It's textured, neutral (beautiful!) fabric, entirely down-filled, and I don't think anyone has ever sat on it. It fills like sinking into a cloud, but has perfect resilence in shape. I also picked up a 4 foot, hand-made, fully furnished victorian dollhouse. It's incredible!

I've made good friends with the stager/estate seller and she does 2-3 of these caliber jobs a year. She has my phone and email to give me a heads up. I'll send her a picture of the chair when I reupholster it. It's so exciting when you pay on 10% of retail, or complete remake a tired piece of furniture. It must be how hunters feel when they bring home a 17 point buck.

That sounds awesome!! I'd love to see some pics!

We have so many things from Craig's list. Only wood stuff that I refinished, but I laugh when people say we have such nice furniture (we so don't, I'm not even that great at refinishing!).

There is a local Facebook page here for reselling furniture. I've seen some nice things there too.

We move August 4th. I post some pics once we move. I picked up a marble chess set today for DD1. She's joining a chess club next year. Loves it. I looked at comps online and they were 150-400. The owner had a tray custom built for it, included. $25!!! It was another large estate up north. Next year I'll be hunting in northern jersey too. The neighborhoods are insane there! Summer estate sales are thrilling I picked up some pieces from Restore (habitat for humanity donation store). I plan to refinish/paint one and add new hardware to another. That place is so much fun!

I love refinishing furniture! I did an antique jenny Lind bed and an old broyhill dresser for my sons room earlier this year
