  • Best places to shop for ME!

So in a few weeks I'm headed to PA to spend a weekend with my sister. We are planning an entire day of shopping, I have a sizeable budget for my birthday. I'm looking for everyday, cute, casual, comfortable clothes that are practical. So what we are trying to figure out, since she is still new to the area, is where should we go??

She has two outlets near her:
    http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlet...signerFashions

    http://www.tangeroutlet.com/pittsburgh/directory

She also has two decent malls near her:
    http://www.shoprobinsonmall.com/dire...ens/2138212084

    http://www.simon.com/mall/ross-park-mall

Its been so long since I REALLY shopped for myself I don't even know where to start.

So where do you shop for everyday casual clothes?

I consistently shop @Dillards, Macy's & Kohls. Target & Meijer sometimes. Sounds fun!!

Gap for basics. White House Black Market would be a fun splurge!

Are the outlets a good bet? Its been a long time since I've shopped at an outlet - are the clothes as good or are they junk specifically made for the outlets?

It really depends on the store.

                Go to for outlets:
                Brooks brothers
                Jcrew
                Banana republic
                Ralph Lauren
Kate spade( not sure if they have that one)

                Go to in mall:
                Same as the outlets.
                Nords
                Lacoste
                Brandi
Wife to PGY3 Rads also proud mother of three spoiled dogs!! Some days it is hectic, but I wouldn't trade this for anything.

The Tanger outlets are better than Grove City, and I think slightly closer to the city depending on which side you're coming from - there's a Saks Off 5th there! Definitely budget some time for that store alone. Ross Park Mall is THE place to go otherwise.

We have a Tanger close by here and I second Brandi's suggestions. And I agree with MSB - Ross Park FTW There's a nice little toy store there, too, with a great selection of puppets.

Personally, I wouldn't go to Ross Park Mall. It isn't anything special. (Random trivia: I sang in a chorus at the mall's opening--it has kind of gone a little downscale since then, but it still has good anchor stores.) I'd head to Robinson.

Oh I forgot! If you have access to the "Nordstom Off the Rack," Neiman's Last call" and I think "Saks Fifth Avenue's Off fifth," those are all really great options @outlets malls. I can always find stuff at them!!

Best places to shop for ME!... I tend to shop at Anthropologie (generally tops) and Gap (usually jeans, but also undies) with my more uniform-stuff coming from Talbots (think sweater sets and slacks). But, my dresses mostly come from Boden. I LOVE Boden. I go to the mall for the first two (Anthro and Gap). The last two stores are online for me (Talbots and Boden). Modcloth is rapidly becoming a favorite for shoes and the occasional dress. But, I second Nordstrom's Off the Rack. You can find some really great deals there. Oh! And, I love J.Crew t-shirts and sweaters.

Target, Nordstrom, and Aerie. Confession: I do most of my shopping through eBay. Hello cashmere sweaters for $10 or less off season! I hope you find some great things, SS!

You just reminded me to mention, there's no sales tax on clothing in PA, just like MN. So SHOP ON!
