  • Fake Eyelashes

So here's the scoop - I'd like to wear fake eyelashes for my wedding next May but I know zilch about them. I'd like to buy a few different brands now and start to use them so I am comfortable with them by May. I plan on doing my own hair and makeup for the wedding so I'd like to feel confident about what I'm slathering on myself the day of.

Do any of you use them? If so, what brands? Any tips or tricks?

I had them for my wedding, but my makeup person put them on for me. I had a girl who did the spray makeup. I didn't even notice they were on once she put them on and then I forgot I had them on until I washed my face and they started to come off. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

I just do Latisse. I love that stuff! I notice a huge difference with it. People always think I have fake lashes on. And one bottle last me forever. I don't do it every night, so it last longer.

Do you need a prescription for Latisse?

My eyes are nearly black and I'm still afraid of Latisse for no reason other than that I'm chickenshit.

I think so. We sell it at my office so I get it at cost.
As far as eye color change, I think there is a big misconception in that. I have light blue/green eyes as have no color change. And we have tons of clients that have light blue eyes and love it. Maybe an optho person can enlighten us

I really think I want to stick to falsies. But thank you, bokelley!

Is there really a "good" brand out there? I mean, if it's only for one day - I can't imagine the cheap ones wouldn't work. Then again - I'm clueless. I suppose I should just start buying some and give it a whirl.

You can get extensions done which look great and last for a week or two...prices vary for it bit they're the most natural looking!

I tried fake lashes, tried learning to put them on, failed epically and ultimately just did lots of mascara!

I'm intrigued by Latisse and would actually consider it, but I seriously doubt we can get it here in BFE.

My daughters wear fake eyelashes for dance. It's a brand I get at Target. My oldest likes the ELF lashes but not the glue. She prefers the glue from another brand (it's in a tube). Yes, I just asked my 15-year-old about fake eyelashes.

I would never in a million years do my own anything if anybody decided to marry me. But, my friends who have dark lashes have also have great success with the elf lashes. I would never do it on my "wedding day".

If you have a beauty supply store like Sally's around you, go there and get the cheap individual ones. They are just as good as the expensive ones, some say even better. But if you're antsy about applying them on your own, you can get some at MAC and they'll do them for you.
