I've had the best luck with lands end. I tried athleta awhile back, but I didn't like the fit. Too snug for me.

This is such a hard one for me. I am long, *and* have big boobs, *and* I am a bigger than average person that doesn't really need plus sizes, but does have a jiggly belly.....and I am more apple than pear. It's hell. Land's End used to have more choices that fit me, but not so much in the past few years. Good luck!Wife of an OB/Gyn, mom to three boys, middle school choir teacher.

It's going to sound nuts, but I buy Victoria secret tops (I'm a DD) because I haven't found any that have that kind of support. Some of them make me look like a porn star but the ones without push up have a great shape and stability. Bottoms, I usually go for J Crew. Both last more than a season (which I had issues with macys)sigpic

Jcrew is usually my go to. They usually seem to have the best selection in the winter.
But I did find a fantastic Oakley suit recently that really stays put while engaging in sporty beach activities. I didn't even know they made suits.
You could also consider a rash guard to throw over a less stable bikini when you need more certainty of stability.... I have a way overpriced rash guard from jcrew, but I am pretty sure you can find a cheap one.

I'm long in the torso, so a good one piece is hard to find - I love this brand, because it contains the girls and isn't hiked up in the rear.
I bought mine for $50, marked down from $75.

I'm going to jump on the Land's End band wagon. I was just at Alderwood yesterday to see if they have any suits yet and they don't. We are headed to Oahu in three weeks and I'm getting a little panicky. I've got one coming from JCrew because I keep hearing good things (there's a store at Alderwood now, which makes returns easy) and there is an Athleta at UVillage, but I've not had luck with their suits and the store only carries about a third of what they have online. I too get compliments on my LE suits and that NEVER happens. I also have one I've had for years and is still in great shape...makes the investment worth it.Gwen

As you posted I was trying on the JCrew suit that just arrived in the mail and I love it. It is a tankini (I have a crazy long torso and would like to give a long, hard kiss to whomever invented the tankini) with a highwaisted bottom. Just Plain Jane solid color, but very comfy and very flattering. We might cross paths! (It would be crazy to have to go all the way to the Honolulu airport to do that though!) We are gone 13-20 of Feb. It is the season for a little warmth and sunshine I've been giggling that Target has all of their suits out here. They know what we all do this time of year!Gwen
