  • Another Black Tie

We are going to a black tie event on 2/7. Its a Valentine gala so is this dress to much? This is the event I wore my blue gown to last year and I was not out of place but its more muted then RED!

Funny thing is I've had this dress since 2001, wore it again in 2007 and now possibly 2014 - hah! (Which is why if I'm going to wear it I need to have it dry cleaned!)

The detail, its red not pink but you can see the glitter here (and its glitter not sequins)

    What jewelry do I wear?

Since you wore blue last year I'd say wear either red or black, they're both beautiful! My personal fave is the black. Have fun!

You look good in all of them, but the blue isn't my favorite. The sleeve is odd. I REALLY like the black dress, though.

The black is my favorite, but the red is pretty too!

I love the black too! It's the most flattering. Do you have a pearl necklace?

I would probably need to wear a wrap with the black, I am ALWAYS cold. Yes, I have pearls but then what do I wear for earrings?

The earrings you are wearing in the picture are great, and they look red which is a plus given the Valentine theme.

You look great in the red but I think it's dated at this point.

                Have fun at the event!!!

I like the black for this occasion best. Add some red...a wrap or shoes to update the look. OR - how about fuchsia or some other pink? I do not know how you look in pink...it would still be Valentine-ish but not traditional red - you know.
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

What about a red silk pashmina? I'm always cold too. I usually feel more comfortable with a wrap anyways.

If you go with pearls I would wear pearl studs. You can wear any simple jewelry though if you have the floral detail and a bright wrap.

May I just say you look amazing in red and I loved your blue dress last year. I think out of the three dresses the black would do.

I say treat yourself to a new red dress though! I like this one for you. ABS Allen Schwartz Pleated Bustier Dress w/ Belted Waist valentine's gala.JPG

I noticed while looking at red dresses that it's a great time to buy dresses on some of the sites right now.

I like the black, too. If I remember, you are petite, correct? A shorter dress length, especially above the knee, would be so va va voom on you - I bet you have great legs, so show them off.
I promise I'm not hitting on you.
