I bought a sleeper sofa for our den. (Come visit, ya'll!)
It's a surprise, and DH doesn't know yet -- I plan on putting a pre-made bow on it and surprising him on Weds.

Man I've gifted myself SEVERAL items recently. I chalk it up to getting a new job/raise, doing really well with budgeting earlier this year, and having never gotten around to really buying new spring/summer stuff earlier this year (just a few inexpensive tops and a bathing suit). But really I just have a bad case of the "wants" this season because I haven't really gotten much lately. Should probably curb that at some point....

Since mid-Sept: Madewell Transport tote, green Hunter rainboots, several pairs of Lou & Grey black leggings which are my current fave - opaque and so comfy, three Madewell sweaters (all on sale!), two long tunic-y sweaters from Old Navy, two pairs of jeans, a few long sleeved shirts, two long cardis from Nordstrom, a handful of scarves (4 for $20. I mean it would be wasteful to NOT take advantage of that pricing).

And I just ordered a fair isle sweater which should make it's way to me by the end of the week!

Oh, and for our pre-Christmas family gathering I ordered this, because obviously: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1694454...?ref=hp_mod_rf

Ive had the same red wool coat for over 10 years. I decided it needs a new owner so I replaced it with this: http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/m...%26slotId%3D17

It doesn't look as fab on me as on the model, but hubby liked it. I'll miss the red coat, but I think there is someone out there who needs it more.

I'm trying to hold steady with my existing maternity wardrobe, but I had to buy some maternity dress pants and blouse for a work trip in a couple weeks... Looks like I will need a black blazer to go with those as well, but I think I'll just pick up a cheap non-maternity one that fits for now at Target or H&M or something. My old one was getting too small before pregnancy anyway. And along with all that I'll probably be shopping for a more manageable-sized carry-on bag since mine is too big for a 2-day trip and I need something that's less awkward for me to lift and carry right now.

So other than work wear, I've bought myself a new pair of Minnetonka Moccasin slippers, a Target maternity t-shirt dress, a new throw for the couch, and a couple pairs of lounge/pajama pants. I'm in comfort mode!

Baby Baskets, on the other hand, has gained a whole wardrobe.

I desperately need to take my daughter shopping for some winter clothes. All of the new stuff I bought her for Christmas last year doesn't fit anymore. She is only an inch or two from me ( her shoes are now bigger) and so she is borrowing my stuff. I need to get her some of her own!!! And it is so much colder, so much earlier... Her new coat ( she wore it maybe 3 or 4 times last year) doesn't fit!!! Sigh... Should have bought the adult medium last year instead of adult small. But she is only 12!!!!! Sigh

                    Two of these:
                    http://www.ashleyfurniturehomestore....0&ref=search-t

A full size with tall dresser and nightstand for Alex's room and a twin size with long/shorter dresser and nightstand for Aidan's room. Both boys also got new mattresses. We got this from an unclaimed freight store and got a super deal. We were lucky that they accidentally ordered the wrong mattress for Aidan and he got an ultra upgrade at no cost to us. His bed is the most comfortable bed in the house!

Their rooms are decorated pretty poorly so that is on my new list of things to do this Winter while I wait for the snow to melt.

I bought a long gray sweater (over my ass length) and black fleece lined leggings, today. I'm hesitant to wear them as that is what every. single. other. person wears. Everywhere. With black boots, of course. Not sure.....???

Lots of maternity wear mostly -- shirts, pants, leggings, skirts. The only thing I haven't done yet is buy a maternity coat but I have a regular coat that's a size or two too big that should suffice for a little while. All the rest of my warmer outerwear I fear are just a couple of weeks away from no longer being able to zip up.

A 7.25 quart Le Creuset french oven. I love it so much. Stews, chills, roasted chicken -- that baby is going to get lots of use this winter.

I've been perusing Craigslist lately for nursery furniture hoping to hit some good deals. That stuff is so expensive brand new! I'm hoping to finally get real beds for our master and guest BR too. We've just always used the college remnants of beds, that is basic metal frames. I s'pose when you hit 30 you should probably sleep in a bed that doesn't have rollers on it huh...?

It's ski season here. We just rented six (!) pairs of skis and boots for the season. It's the youngest two kids first year to ski with rentals and lessons. It's DD10's first year of ski club at school. Think we're ok on ski clothes except DS4. Then there's lift tickets. Everyone is wearing sweats, old yoga pants and hand me downs this season! This is our most expensive time of year.

We've been spending mostly on the house and getting a car for Dh. We had a dual hvac system installed, then repairs from the work, soon the banister is being rebuilt along with some windows inner trim. Dhs beater died so we got him a 2013 Honda Accord. I feel like we are bleeding cash right now.

Here too, E. Lots of skis poles, boots, coats, pants, lift tickets. Joy! $5 cup of hot chocolate for everyone! Dh isn't skikng this year, though. He still needs that damn tendon transfer/bone fusion in his foot. He finally realized after his AC separation last year, when his foot had enough...that he was sadly done.

That's a northeastern tragedy. skiing is the only joy of the season.
