  • Suggestions for smart phone

I'm getting a smart phone for Christmas. To be honest, this fills me with dread. I am just not great with technology. Do you have any tips about how to go about figuring out how to actually use it as I should. The thought of it completely overwhelms me.

If you're a technophobe, that's easy: iPhone. Most user friendly and easiest out of the box. Get a 6 and a nicely protective slim case -not the 6 plus (it's too big).

If you do get an iPhone 6:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSgOm6hW2Zw one-hour video going over the basics.
http://www.dummies.com/how-to/conten...eat-sheet.html free cheat-sheet that has some basic call/contacts/troubleshooting info
http://www.amazon.com/iPhone-For-Dum...dp_ob_title_bk - the book the cheat sheet came from.

ETA: and if you are getting something else, let us know what exactly, and we'll find you resources!

I have an iPhone and we're on Verizon. I would definitely recommend an iPhone as a first smartphone. They are very easy to use! I love mine! I had a droid before and was not a big fan. But, that was years ago, so they've probably improved since then.

I'm pretty sure hubby has already bought me a droid type phone...I could click on the email from Verizon thanking for purchase... I haven't done that to save some of the surprise. The question is did he get me the bigger one like his or the mini one...

If you want to save the surprise, let us know the exact model when you open it, and we can dig up "how to" sites for you to peruse.

If you want to know what you're getting into, open the email and let us know what the model is now.
