  • Steam mops

We have 90% wood floors and two dogs. So as you can imagine the floors are ALWAYS dirty.

I had a shark steam mop and didn't like it. I think those micro fiber towels are gross and it just died.

I was looking at the swifter steam. It is on sale and a rebate as well. I am not going for perfectly clean floors just muddy paw prints gone.

    Thoughts?

I had the Shark Steam too and I threw it away, I HATED it. Let me know if you find something better. We have two dogs and two cats!

No good experience with steam mops here. Just felt like we threw out our money.

I love my Bissell steam mop. I have tile floors, so I don't know how it'd do on hardwood.

ETA - I had a Hoover steam mop before, and it broke after about a year. Hoping the Bissell lasts longer!

I bough the swiffer steam mop. It was on sale for 44.98 and a 15 mail in rebate. So far I am pretty impressed. It is cheap in construction. Snap together but I do love that it is disposable pads It has take 4 pads to do the upper level. Not sure if it that dirty (which it could be) or if it is just going to take that many.

I really like my new steam mop vacuum combo.I usually use my broom first and then I use the Bissell. It works wonderfully at getti g up kitty & doggy hair ans steam cleaning. I purchased extra reusable pads. Just make sure to wash them w/out using any fabric softner in the wash or dryer sheets.
I opted for the upgrade and have really been impressed w/the handheld steamer and its various
              attachments!

Mine already broke. Going to take the stupid thing back.

It was working fabulously. But then all the sudden the light went out and no steam. Wtf

Have you tried the swiffer wet jet? I used one when we had dogs and loved that you could just toss the pad. (had them autodelivered through amazon)

I don't remember what kind of steamer I had but it was a pain in the ass.

Our cleaning lady just had us get a bona for our hardwood floors. Not steam, but wet.
