Clothes for nursing

Give me all your best tips for clothes to breastfeed in... Do you prefer to wear nursing tanks and loose shirts you can pull up? Or button ups or other shirts with front access? What works best for you? I'm still in the staying at home stage so I just go all boobs-out when it's feeding time... Not going to fly when we start going on more outings.

I found button ups harder than other options. Nursing tanks and a cardigan were a really easy combo, but honestly I work anything except dresses that couldn't be lifted up

nursing tank or even a regular tank/nursing bra under a loose tee/blouse. I'll also do deep v-necks under looser sweaters or cardigans. My favorite nursing bras are the underwire variety from Target. I used to like Glamourmom's nursing tanks but they changed the way they are made between my second and third babies.

Clothes for nursing

I bought 5-6 scoop neck tanks from gap and "mix and match" with them. I prefer to raise a shirt and tuck baby under it, but that's my personal preference. (gap outlet)

I did the same with long sleeved Ts from ON.

Stretchy, v neck wrap dresses are easiest for me to nurse in, should I need to wear a dress.

I actually found Gap maternity tanks to be the best for nursing. I got them in black, white, gray and I've used them for two pregnancies now. I layer them under regular (looser) clothes for the most part and it works great. I use a cover for the top but I don't like having my belly exposed from below either.

The gap maternity ones are made to stretch out and they have held their shape while I stretched out the boob for many pregnancies now.

Mrs. K what was that brand you recommended... I liked them because they kind of sucked in my lose skin without feeling like a girdle.

I'd buy one of a few different onea and see what you like best.

Probably glamourmom. They suck in your tummy but they changed the latch and nipple opening between my second and third pregnancy. The latch isn't as convenient as it used to be and the opening is less comfortable. It's still ok though. Just not as awesome as before.

I preferred the Motherhood nursing tanks and a nursing bra under a shirt that I could lift up, or occasionally a loose, low cut shirt I could pull down.

I feel like it's most discrete to layer a low cut tee or nursing tank with a regular shirt, so I can pull the regular shirt up and be covered on top, and pull the neck of the under-layer down, keeping my stomach covered. But neither of my kids would deal with a nursing cover. I find layering particularly helpful with a toddler, so he does not have access to help himself to the breast in public.

I never really liked any of them. Or nursing bras. I want to start from scratch on this front when we have another kid. I mostly just wore loose tees and tank tops (summer baby) and lifted them up. Nursing cover in public.

Check out target too... super cheap and I loved their sleep bras.

I do like pea in the pod nursing bras. Definitely worth the $$$.
