  • Can I wear a romper?

I really want to. I feel late on the trend, but I've been breastfeeding for the last 4 summers so it hasn't been very practical. This summer though, gosh, I just want to throw on a one-piece, some jellies, a jaunty sun hat, and play on the swings. Is that Fun Cool Mom? Or Mom Who Doesn't Have a Daughter So She Dresses Herself Like a Little Girl? Or Yikes Has She Started Drinking before Lunch? I turn 35 in a few months. Be honest.

Honestly? I hate rompers, I think they're weird. BUT it all depends on your attitude. There are at least a few women on here who I bet could rock a romper and totally own it. I could not. I can hardly stand to wear shorts. If you have the cute, fun, fashionable personality to go with it, I say why not.

I think you can. I've never worn one myself, but I follow the tone-it-up girls on Instagram and they seem to love them.

That one's nice-- it's similar to one I was considering that I considered to be more grown-up, if there is such a thing in romperland, in that it looks slightly more tailored, solid color, could almost be a dress if you squint. Something like that I would wear with heels or wedges to pool parties, etc. Maybe I should start there, and assess comfort level and side-eye factor before going in the direction of the super casual, jersey, strappy, playground rendition.

I just had a visual of rompers with velcro crotch seams, designed to avoid that. There's no way velcro crotch seams could go wrong, eh?
