  • Dress for wedding - help?

August wedding, outdoor, at a farm, in Oregon. Stylish gay couple. I'm feeling desperately unfashionable lately, and I want to be comfortable, so I'm thinking maxi with flat sandals Maybe add a fun hat and big shades.

Thoughts on this one? In black.

Too dressy, too casual, too boring, too bridesmaidy? Any other brilliant ideas?

That dress is gorgeous! I think it could be perfect.

If you have any desire at all to do in person shopping I do recommend checking out some of the boutiques in Third Ward. I was looking for a dress recently. Spent hours at the mall, outlets, etc. and then the first shop I looked in Third Ward had the perfect dress! (I also splurged on some heels at Shoo)

Fantastic, thanks! I really wanted something simple and easy like that. Good thing I ordered it yesterday before they ran out of my size! I figured it looked like something I'd get good use out of anyway. Do you think I could do a big necklace instead of a bracelet?

I would love to spend time real shopping but I don't know if it's in the cards right now. However I will need sandals now, I think I just got rid of my only flat pair that would have liked right with this dress... They tore up my feet so I purged them in the move.

Haha, make sense. We'll see which I can find. I'm more of a necklace than bracelet kinda girl.

Target has some really cute summer sandals right now, if you don't mind spending money on something that won't last. Gorgeous dress!

It's too dressy. The cut doesn't look it, but the drape of the fabric is really formal looking somehow. Plus it's heel length and I'm not willing to tailor it up to flat length, when it's formal enough it should probably go with heels anyway. I think I'll just hang onto it for now and see if an occasion comes up. Otherwise I'll just re-sell on Ebay or something. I'm back to square one for the wedding, but I guess I have a few different shorter dresses I can consider. There's this wild knee length peacock print number I got from modcloth last year. It's cotton, so fairly comfortable. Maybe I'll go sandal shopping this weekend and find something. :P

I love the new option! I think it would look great with some fun accessories and some cute sandals or wedges. I thought the first was a bit dressy too, but apparently I forgot to post that before.
