Ok. So, I think I'm done with Stitchfix. I took a break last month and tried again this month. This time, I asked for slimming/slim fitted dress pants and a denim pencil skirt. I got two sort of okay tunic tops each costing about $70 (more than my stated cost limit), two pairs of leggings with faux pockets that I'd have to wear under tunics just to cover all the lumps and bumps they expose. They are not remotely dressy and each cost close to $100 -- I can buy comparable leggings for $20 at Target, and a very short A-line denim skirt that is a size too big. This is my 4th fix, 4th stylist (and I never asked to change stylists), and the second month that I'd be losing my styling fee. If I'm going to loose my styling fee half the time, this is a waste for me. I'm calling to ask for my styling fee back.

So, this is the response I got from SF. I don't know what to do. I bought an item from my first fix and two from my second. But they keep switching stylists because I haven't bought 3 items from a fix? If they keep switching stylists, then I don't think they can improve with my feedback. The first stylist was ok but didn't include machine washable items and everything was too big. The second was great for bottoms and awful for tops. The third fix was not "me" and the fourth was not what I requested.
I've asked for specific things like "denim pencil skirt" or "slim fitting dress pants"). I've pinned trends I love and put notes explaining why I love them. I've pinned pictures of celebrities who are proportioned like me in clothes that are realistic for my every day lifestyle. I've pinned stuff from the SF pages/blogs. I've pinned others' reviews of SF clothes and with notes like "I love everything in this fix and her body-type is like mine"). For ever pin I've put of myself, I've noted the brand of every item I'm wearing even if I did buy it resale.
Do I try another fix? Do I ask to go back to one of the former stylists? Do I just throw in the towel? It really sounds like they don't know what I want and at this point, I don't either.
Thanks for reaching out to us. I also received your voicemail, but since we currently do not have a call center available, I am happy to help resolve these issues via email. I'm terribly sorry to hear your past Fixes haven't been a hit. Our stylists really do care about packing great Fixes; they always read your comments and try to adhere to your requests, but sometimes we miss the mark. This is definitely not the experience we are wanting you to have and would love to be able to work with you to make this right.
Our system is currently set up to assign you to a new stylist for each Fix if you are not having particular luck with one stylist. This is just to ensure that you are set up with a stylist who gets your unique style. I apologize that this was not made more clear to you when you signed up with us. If you ever feel that you are clicking with one stylist in particular, you can always write in to us here at hello@stitchfix.com and we can add notes to request that the one stylist style all of your future Fixes with us.
I have went ahead and added some internal notes on your account to draw more attention to your preferences, feedback and style. Is there anything else that you would like m to add? Perhaps you could tell us a little more about what you are looking for? What are some trends you love? Celebrity styles you admire or stores you shop at - besides the awesome vintage shops? Please feel free to forward along any style preferences, brands, aesthetics or links that can help us. Pinterest boards are another great visual reference for your stylists - thank you so much for sharing your Pinterest and personal photos of yourself with us! You can even take a look at our Stitch Fix Pinterest Page, and re-pin pieces we carry that echo a style you'd really go for.
I have went ahead and placed a $20 credit on your account to cover the styling fee of your next Fix. If you would like, I can set you up to receive a new Fix within a week! Go ahead and drop off your unwanted items with USPS. Once those have registered for return, I can get a new Fix sent out to you. If you would rather wait for your November shipment, that is fine as well. Let me know what you think and if you have any additional feedback to add. Looking forward to hearing from you soon!
