If you decide to go the trench coat route, North Face has some cute ones. https://www.thenorthface.com/shop/womens-laney-trench

I am a coat hoarder. Loooove them and cannot resist when they are super cheap. I have quite the collection. However, I've noticed that my go to (travel with all the time) is my LLBean coat with the zip out liner. I have even worn it as a rain coat in the summer in addition to being my warm coat or wind breaker in the cooler months. Looks good over my suits as well as jeans. Not fussy IMO and sleeves fit since I got petite sizing. Cleans up well. I got the tan and wish I had gotten the black because it does show dirt.

ETA - I got mine 5-6 years ago but I think this is their new version.

I've gotten petite coats from Talbots, Ann Taylor, and Old Navy.

I like the Anorak - the hood is removable.

I found a super cute hunter trench with removable liner two years ago at Nordstrom rack. Have you checked stores like that? (In southern cities, I fee like it's easier to score a great deal on a coat at those kinds of stores).

What about just a standard quilted jacket. I have a Burberry that is actually a hand-me-up from my sister (her boobs grew too much, poor thing), but I know lots of other people make them. I think it's a great weight for the temps you're describing.

Here is one from poshmark, which is actually still expensive.... (but actually now I'm thinking about buying it since it looks longer than mine and I have a very long torso). https://poshmark.com/listing/Burberr...keMaAqiE8P8HAQ

I also love vests for fall. (And I guess actually winter for me now... good thing I spent all that cash on a Canada goose &#128580.

Oh I love this! But it's probably more than I'm looking to spend right now. But for sure that would be amazing post training!

For 40ish Temps, my go to coat is a red Calvin Klein trench I found at a thrift store. For colder Temps, I wear my down coat....which is actually a maternity coat with the maternity panel removed. It was nice to have when Lambie was in the baby wearing stage.
