    Kris-

That sounds like so much fun! I did competitive gymnastics for 12 almost 13 years, had an offer to compete in college. However, I had to quit due to a rare wrist disorder, and haven't really step foot into a gym since. Every once in a while I will do a handstand or some dance move for Matt (believe me since I have been pregnant that hasn't happened! I would look like those hippos in pink tutus off of Disney's Fanstasia).

For Friday Family Fun Night this week, we decided to go to the Open Gym time at the gym where my children take gymnastics. We had a 50% off coupon and it only cost us $7.50 for the whole family. The big gym was opened up to all with its trampolines, uneven bars, etc.....and I have to say...I let the child within out for a good romp!!! I absolutely had a blast. Poor Thomas ended up running after the kids much more than I did and I jumped around on the trampolines, tried my hand at the uneven bars...and......tried in vain for an hour to do a front flip...I could do them as a teen-ager, but failed miserably in my attempts....I'm sure the other moms and dads got a good chuckle out of seeing this little blob try to flip...but it was soooooooo much fun (and think of the calories I burned off!) I want to go back this Friday....too bad they don't have gymnastics classes to help moms get in shape...it would be so much more fun that say....the stationary bicycle!

But I have to tell you.....I am in PAIN! Every muscle in my body still hurts after 2 days...my leg muscles are so sore that I have to walk down the stairs with straight knees!!

    hehehe

I'm laughing at both of you! Thanks for the smile today- I was needing one.

Kris- good for you for a) not worrying about how you looked & just all out having a good time and b) letting Thomas run after the kids for a while!

Crystal- I'm STILL laughing about the comparison to the hippos in Fantasia!

Well, I think I probably looked like one of the hippos from fantasia, so I'll have to stifle my chuckle

But Crystal, that sounds so fun!! I took gymastics for a year, but my mom felt uncomfortable about the risks....boohoo...it was such a blast though. My children are taking it now just for fun, and I just want to run out and jump around with them!!

Did you compete competitively at all? Why did you stop?
