  • Winter solstice

The shortest day of the year is over!

    Celebrate! Daylight will return!

They had a huge bonfire at the community center last night to celebrate with all these weird Swedish troll/weird creature costumes. I don't think that I'm Minnesotan enough to completely understand it.

I have to say that it is beyond weird that we don't have snow now. Very bizarre.

Wow- no snow? But GWB says there's no such thing as Global Warming...

Today is my parent's 43 anniversary.

        SNOW

Kelly, If you look outside right now I bet you would say differently about the snow. These are the biggest snow flakes I have ever seen!!

My son is going to be thrilled. I guess we'll attempt sledding in the mud tonight. He's going to insist on it.

thanks goodness! I hate going to work and coming home from work in the dark....I WANT MY DAYLIGHT!!

Today our partners let us out early from work (at 3) and I was more excited that I was leaving in daylight than I was about the fact that we were getting out early

I'm a glass is half-empty girl. I hate the solstice because it is the shortest day, and even though the days are getting longer now, the temperatures aren't really rising. Jan and Feb are always the worst. I really need to move to San Diego. I hate cold. Bah humbug.

The cold here isn't too bad, but darkness at 7:30am when I send my daughter to the bus stop is *depressing*. Woohoo! More light!
