degrees outside!!!! It snowed here last night. I am looking out my window and watching the snow blow around in powerful gusts. I think that it will take the entire tenure of Sean's residency to get used to such insanity!

Wow- not for me thank you! It was 90 degrees and sunny here yesterday.

My greatest fear is that we'll be sent to Alaska to to Ft. Drum, NY. I hate the cold!!

Phoenix is exactly the opposite at 92 degrees!

I used to love the cold but I have become a total wimp since being in Phoenix. It is making me a little nervous about residency. Who knows where we will be and how cold it will get. Hang in there Kelly! My kids sure miss the snow, if that is any consolation. Think of all the great memories your son will have!!!

Ugh...don't forget to add the wind chill into that! Our car broke down and while it was at the dealer, we went out walking with the kids...and got caught in a little mini-blizzard. It came on fast and furious...unbelievable! We didn't have gloves or hats, and by the time we walked to Wal-Mart, Andrew had a golf-ball sized blister on his right cheek and his ears were swollen ! It all happened so fast! Really, it was dangerous. We had to walk back from the wal-mart (where we bought mittens, etc...) and it was absolutely freezing snow...I had to carry Alex (I was wearing heels ) in my coat....

It has been in the 30's here for the last couple of days-- really drizzly with some snow mixed in, but nothing's sticking so far. i don't figure we're more than a couple of weeks away from it though.

When we moved to Saginaw, I told Dave this was as far north as I was going. So, where is he looking at residency? Buffalo, Syracuse, Rochester NY. To prove to me that they are, in fact, south of Saginaw, he gets out the ruler, measures the degrees of lattitude and proclaims them to be a whopping 0.1 degrees of lattitude south of where we are now. I figure that translates to about a mile or so south.

Perhaps I should've specified a distance when I said i wanted to go south!

The snow that we got melted Thursday morning...it has remained cold here, but as of yet....no more snow. The kids are so disappointed! I wonder if we'll have snow on Halloween......

Kris--That is terrible about your car! Ugh, I hoped that you all survived in tact. Wendy--I had to laugh because I also have mandated that any future training and our ultimate placement will take place much further south than Minnesota, preferably near a warm, sandy beach . My dh countered that Toronto is farther south than here. Ugh! We're not even on the same page!

Kelly, we lived just outside Toronto and our relatives were all in Minnesota. They used to call and ask "how's the weather up there in Canada?" We'd have to keep reminding them that Toronto was on the same parallel as Northern California!!! I can tell you from experience that winters in Toronto are NOT like MN. Much milder, much less snow. Snow doesn't usually fall until December. Summers are hot and sunny. Fall is gorgeous, and spring is short but pretty (everything blooms in early May.

There's no place like Hawaii, where it's 80 degrees year round, there's no palce like Hawaii..........

eek! i don't know how you all stand it! it's 65 at night and 75 during the day - and i think it's sooo cold. if i have to wear a jacket, it is too cold for me. i have a funny story about the heat - it was quite cold about 2 weeks ago and i wanted to turn the heat on b/c it was going to be like 32 degrees that night. soooo, husband is on call and i turn it on. suddenly there is this awful, awful smell and it is so awful that i have to leave the house. i page him and the nurse calls me back - so i ask her (thinking...what if something is wrong or our pets are in danger) - i am assuming she asked everyone in the OR b/c she just yelled it out - and added, it's probably dust since it's the first time of the season. then everyone agrees. i was like ohhhh, hmmm, ok, i guess. my husband probably wanted to die. uh, yes, that is my wife, the woman who has obviously never turned on a heater!
