  • Need your opinion: Boots

Yesterday, I bought a pair of Natualizer boots from Dilliard's. Usually, I am very particular about my boots and only buy Nine West. But, the sales guy at Dilliard's convinced me to buy the Naturalizer boots and I really liked the look. When I got home, I noticed there was a little nail sticking out of the back of one of the boots. Great! To me, this is a mark of bad craftsmanship. Plus, I only paid $70 for the boots. I am a firm believer in the statement "you get what you pay for" and felt that a good quality pair of boots should at least cost me $100. Today, I am going to return them. I am looking into the "Easy Spirit" boots b/c I will be using these for work too. I looked on their website and their boots go for $100-$150 a pair. I have a pair of "Easy Spirit" pumps that I just love and they are so comfortable. Anyone have any experience w/Naturalizer, Nine West, or Easy Spirit shoes? I'd like to hear your stories.

    Thanks,

    Rachel

    Rachel,

Well, speaking as someone who only pays 14.95 her shoes at Payless I would say take the boots back and return/exchange them!

I can't share any shoe help though....I haven't bought myself an expensive pair of shoes since I had children...

Thanks, Kris. I am going to return them and go to the "Easy Spirit" store to check out their boots. For me, shoes are really important since I will be using them a lot for work. So, I do need something that I like but also comfortable at the same time. I spent $80 on my "Easy Spirit" pumps but it was worth it. They are so comfortable but stylish as well! Thanks again!

I went to the "Easy Spirit" store and got a pair of really great boots. It cost me $150 but it's definitely worth the investment. The saleslady I spoke to told me she has a pair and it has lasted her for 4 years!

        Thanks for listening!

150$........Holy Moly!!! Wow...I don't think I've ever spend more than$30 for a pair of shoes But you are right....if you are on your feet a lot, then a good pair of shoes is a must!

Did the other store accept the return ok?

Hi Kris! Yeah, Dilliard's was ok about the return. They asked me if I wanted to exchange or get credit but I told them "no." Finding a nail sticking out at the back of the shoe is not a good sign of good craftsmanship. They understood and I got my money back. These new boots will definitely last me a long time. Thanks for listening!

              rachel -

i had to laugh when i read your story about boots. i felt as if i was reading a story about myself! unfortunately for my budget, i am like you! i love to buy quality items - and these come at a price. my lack of employment right now has forced me to evaluate my standards - the most absurd "quality" purchase that i have ever made was to buy these awesome green and gray striped pants that were made in France - they were on sale for a whopping $175. and of course, you can wear green and gray striped pants every day...sure. we'll have to chat about shopping more! it is my weakness.

                Hey Claudia!

Your story in France sounds like a girl I knew who spent $300 on a skirt in Italy! We really must talk! Perhaps, at one of the weekly chats in the future!
