  • Give me a break.

I'm so annoyed. The not-so prestigious university I go to asked my babysitter to teach a university class because their usual professor quit unexpectedly and they were in a bind. Yes, it's only a course on how to coach volleyball, but it's still teaching at the university level. The kicker is that this girl doesn't even have her Bachelor's degree yet. She's still student teaching and getting a degree in History at that!!!

Yes, she's tall, yes she has played volleyball and even coached high school games, but... come on. Is this a new low for college instruction? What about NCSLB?! (No College Student Left Behind). Why am I so annoyed by all this?! I'd be pissed if I were taking the class.

man, I can't even get my alma mater to let me have a "learn to use the rowing machines" "instructional session" and I got my JD from them and coach their women's crew team!

Oh- I said she coached high school when really I meant she referees HS games. I'm letting this go now. Really.

I tought an HTML class in college during my senior year. Granted it wasn't at university level for credit or anything like that. Is this class for credit and part of the curriculum?

It's a 3 credit class (~$700.00) and an elective to get a minor in coaching. NOT a big deal. DON'T know why I can't let it go.

I taught a 1 credit class in Honor at UVa, but that's a little different. It was always student taught.

Graduate student TA's are completely different than a person who doesn't even have a bachelor's IMO. If I were paying for the class and needed it to graduate I would be pissed too.
