Oh, sheesh. Let's see if my husband waits in line at midnight for this one, too. He always says that he's doing it for our oldest, but I'm pretty sure he's the one who wants to read them.

I'm happy...but surprised. I think the fifth movie is supposed to be released on the 13th of July. I wasn't expecting her to release the book at the same time. Maybe the movie will be pushed back? Or they are going for super Harry madness in July?

DS's birthday is in July and he's all hyped to do a late night Harry thing. Heck, so am I.

I wonder what the difference is between the children's hardback and the adult hardback are ? And is the book to be published in July but available in August or is the publish date the release date ? So many questions.

Usually they have different covers on the children's and adult's hardcovers. Last time, I think the British edition had a more sinister cover for adults and a watered down one for kids. The American edition was watered down for both adults and kids. There was a news item about what that suggested about Americans.

I thought this was a release date -- but maybe no?

I made my pre-order on Amazon.com- you can choose between the regular hardback at $18.89 (normally $34.99) or the deluxe edition at $34.99 (normally $65) also eligible for free shipping.

We did this last time and I think I got it within a day of the release date, which this time is July 21st.

I read somewhere today that people are complaining this one is too expensive. I don't think the price is bad - did I miss a major mark-up from the last one?

I didn't think $20 that's including shipping was all that bad. I did a pre-order through Amazon. Now I am sure if I went down to my local Barnes and Noble I would be paying regular price.

I saw the first movie and thought it was pretty good, but I've never been into that kind of "fantasy" stuff, and never read children's books apart from those that I have to teach! :!

That said though, I heard the other day that the actor who plays Harry is now in a whole new kind of "fantasy" genre - I think he's doing some kind of nude show! It doesn't bother or interest me either way, but apparently a lot of HP fans are very upset to hear about it...
