  • The veterinarian!

I swear- I think we have personally built the addition to the vet's office! Today I took Petey (puppy) for his shots and Trouble (new cat) to get fixed. Tomorrow I have to take Rascal (aka the Fat Bastard) because he's just not acting right (although his appetite certainly is fine) and I found some nasty looking growths on his skin. Two weeks ago I took Trouble when I got her off the roof, two weeks before that I took Rascal for a glucose test and Petey for his shots, and Darla for her annual check-up. A month before that I took Rascal for another glucose test.

    Why couldn't my husband be a Vet? I don't need a pediatrician!!

Good grief! You are one busy pet-mommy! That sounds quite a bit like my doctor schedule with the kids (had six appts with the pediatrician in the last three weeks!). Look on the bright side: at least your pets think of the vet's office as their "home away from home."

Hahaha...but don't delude yourself...if hubby was a vet, he'd probably avoid giving any advice about your own pets...at least that's how it works with Dr. Daddy in our house!

I know what you mean about the vet bills though...Molly (our Australian Shepherd) got out when we were in Fl and got her paw either caught in something or was hit by a car....we aren't sure...but her arm was broken and the wound was open We rushed her to the emergency vet, who confirmed exactly what I had already known..her arm was broken and she had an open wound...and afterspending over $300, they decided to not cast her leg because of the wound....and that was IT...they said...keep her quiet for 4 weeks (yah right ) But I can only imagine how high the costs would have been for casting, etc etc....or worst case...surgery...

Animals are expensive....Do you have health insurance for your babies? We don't have any for Molly, but I know that there are pet vet policies out there...you sound like you might be in the market
