  • Avatars...

So...it *might* be my fault that the bandwidth was an issue. I changed the permissions for avatars to allow them to be a pretty huge size. Since we get quite a few page views/day (avg is around 8000 with people reading and posting) this could be an issue?

Anyway...I have decreased the permitted size again. If you can't see your avatar, this is why. If you have a big avatar and you can still see it...please remove it...

We're willing to try anything right now.

What if our avatar and signature, etc. is linked to an outside site? Mine are both on my webspace with links here. That shouldn't chew up bandwidth, right?

An outside site is fine....just make sure you aren't stealing their bandwidth though

Really stupid question...is there a way to tell how mine is being stored? I can't remember if I linked to an off-site avatar or uploaded. I think I linked from photobucket?

Nellie, yours is on photobucket. Mine is on MY site that I pay for through my internet provider.

All you have to do to see where yours is coming from is right click the picture, then click on properties.

How do we know what it too big? I'm pretty sure that mine is small enough - 89X130 pixels / 2594 bytes. That's ok, right?
