  • Reumatologist stabbed!

Yesterday, a reumatologist was stabbed in the stairwell of the hospital....apperently a drug seeking patient who wanted a prescription and didn't receive it took out his aggressions on the physician! What a frightening thing!

A few years ago an pediatric infectious dieases doc was stabbed and killed while doing a six month stint in Korea with the Air Force. It devastated the cmmunity for quite a while. HIs wife was pregnant with their 5th child at the time.

It's scary. The man who killed Dr. Barry was a schizophrenic who wasn't taking his meds.

did the rheumatologist survive? Keep us posted.

Well, I found out last night that she was stabbed in the hand. Thomas isn't sure of the details of what happened, but says that she had to have surgery because there was extensive damage to the hand...thank God it wasn't the face or abdomen, etc.....so I'm assuming that she will be fine.

This is something that you just don't think about happening, and everyone is a bit antsy. Apparently, it was just a rumor that it was someone seeking drugs...they aren't sure who it was, and the person got away...so noone is to go into the stairwell unattended!
