  • Great news!!!

We found a place to live in Seattle. Wooohooo!!! Yippeee!!

And we won't have to sell Emma on the black market to live near the 4 hospitals Matt will be working at. (She's so darn cute I would never sell her)

    Just wanted to share!

    Crystal,

I couldn't be happier for you! Seattle is WONDERFUL! You will love it. It is such a settling feeling to finally have housing lined up. Now you can dream about decorating it!

Yeah!!! What a relief..I'm sure Emma is happy too Wow...he'll have to be traveling between 4 hospitals? OUCH!

We have a friend who recently moved to the Seattle area who loves it there....I hope that you guys will too...how are you moving..U-Haul or a company? What is your moving date? I hope that Matt will have some time between ending this year and starting next year so that you can enjoy some family time!!!

We are doing the Budget truck thing. It is a 20 hour drive from Denver to Seattle. We are going to take 3-4 days to drive out there. Matt has vacation June 17-23, and there is intern week which is from June 23 - 30, so he essentially gets 2 weeks to move out there. We move out of our apt May 24 and in with my parents. We couldn't justify paying $900 for an extra month when we would only be in the apt for an extra 2 wks. Then June 17th we take our stuff out of my parents huge garage and load up the truck and leave. It is coming up quickly.

PS- Kris, I tried sending an email to JenniferLR, and it says that my password username combo isn't right. I could swear that my password is right. Could you forward her email to me?

        Thanks

          Wow- That's excellent news Crystal!

One of the places for the peds residency with the Army is at Ft. Lewis which is right outside of Seattle. My husband did a rotation there during med school so I was able to fly out to see him. It was gorgeous! He has family that live in Gig Harbor which is a really cute town near to everything. He wanted to go to Ft. Lewis- they were second on his list- but Uncle Sam said San Antonio so here we are.

Enjoy! We hope to get to Ft. Lewis during some point of his career but lots of the senior officers end up requesting to stay.

            Crystal:

Where in Seattle? My grandmother, uncles, and several relatives live in Seattle. I *LOVE* Seattle. What a unique city with sooooo much flavor! I often think that we should have ranked cities on the west coast b/c if we already live too far to drive home - then why not live in a nice city instead of an awful one that is "close but not close enough"?! You guys have SO much to look forward to - fish and sticks on the pier, ferry rides, sooo much hiking, etc! I'm so happy for you!!!

We will be in the southern part of Northgate, in fact we will be a hop and a skip from Greenwood/Greenlake area.
